Gypsy Gill is a Tube-nosed fruit bat who came into care after being entangled on a barbed wire fence in April 2019. She was pregnant and gave birth to this pup in November. Unfortunately her wing was too badly damaged to be released, but her pup had a soft release program to live in the wild. You can choose to adopt her and/or any pups we have in care.

On that day over 20 Little Red flying foxes were found dead on the same fence, and one live Little Red. Ringo feeds herself mealworms with a nutrient additive and has a bat box with winter heating.
  • Rufous

    $50.00$100.00
Rufous is an orphaned Little Red flying fox. We rarely get orphans into care from the wild here but our colleagues further south do. Most years we creche 15-30 of them here once they are about 3 months old.  Tolga Scrub usually has a large colony arrive in September and we can release them after a period of time in our flight cage. You can adopt one of these orphans, or one of the hundreds of Little Red adults and juveniles that we rescue off barbed wire fences every year.
  • Rusty
